The Cartography of Justice-Involvement
A new framework to help professionals and clients navigate the landscape.
The Cartography of Justice-Involvement is a conceptual framework for understanding the psychological, social, and lived experience of navigating the justice system. It offers a map of the internal landscape people travel throughout the experience of accusation, uncertainty, shame, resilience, and healing. Designed for justice-involved individuals and the professionals who work alongside them, the framework provides a shared language for orientation, reflection, and compassionate decision-making — one that complements existing legal and clinical frameworks by illuminating the human experience that unfolds between them.
